Orbi rbr20 : Firmware Check Error and router blocking our info to the router.
We are getting error messages
-that our calendar is connecting to a server that is pretending to be our calendar which could put our confidential info at risk.
- Safari cannot establish a secure connection
-NetGear is blocking our info in the router.
Our iPhones, IPads, etc are working. Hulu/Netflix in tv’s are not. iMac is having most issue with these error messages.
I tried to check if the Orbi had a firmware update and I received an error message that there was a “firmware check error”.
We are outside the support window on our product so Netgear cannot help.
Any advice? Thank you!

Re: Orbi rbr20 : Firmware Check Error and router blocking our info to the router.
What firmware are you on with the orbi? And the satellites?
What modem/gateway are you connecting to?
Did this issue just occur or has this been going on since you set it up?

Re: Orbi rbr20 : Firmware Check Error and router blocking our info to the router.
I doubt this has anything to do with the Orbi, unless you configured security.
What version of Safari are you using. It appears IOS13 has issues with Safari not establishing a secure connection on IOS13.
The 3 most popular methods for repairing this error on the Imac are:
- Open System Preferences and go to Network;
- Click Advanced;
- Navigate to the DNS tab and click + button;
- Enter 8.8.8.8 and hit Enter;
- Once again, click + button;
- Submit 8.8.4.4 and click Enter afterward;
- Hit Ok and Apply buttons.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Open the site which shows Safari can't establish a secure connection error;
- Navigate to the address bar and click the (Lock icon) Secure button;
- Select More information;
- Click on View Certificate and check which certificate is in use;
- Go to Details tab and click Command + Space buttons at the same time;
- In the Spotlight Search enter Keychain;
- On the left panel select System Roots;
- Search for the website's certificate;
- Click on it and expand Trust section;
- On When using this certificate section select Always trust.
