QOS by device
People having been asking for a true QOS by device feature since 2017 and two years later there still is no way to do QOS.
When my son start downloading a new game, all of my streaming comes to a crawl. I want to be able to tell ORBI to do the opposite.
When is Netgear going to finally add the feature? It shouldn't be that hard as other routers have this feature.

Re: QOS by device
Something to post about here:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-For-Home/idb-p/idea-exchange-for-home
NG doesn't give out information on when new features are forth coming. It will happen or it may not.
Good Luck.

The problem may be that Orbi is indeed doing QOS, but the embedded values that the user cannot access favor gaming over streaming.
The Orbi router has a bunch of values describing QOS. (I have NO IDEA what they "mean".)

I agree completely that Netgear has disappointed in regard to QOS.

Netgear has a relatively new range of "XR" gaming routers that come with the DumaOS operating system that can do fancy QoS stuff.

Re: QOS by device
Oh, what fun it must be to be a software engineer at Netgear. Nighthawk based on ??, Orbi based on OpenWRT, and another product based on DumaOS. All having something "unique" that justifies them. All performing basically the same functions, except for that "unique" feature.
