See the picture below. Can it work like that? It apears to me that the answer is: yes, it can. Am I right? Thanks!

Hi Hephaestus1,
Welcome to NETGEAR community!
I just confirmed that GS108PEv3 could work correctly with your topology.
Let me introduce the step to confirmation your request.
1. Connect AC/DC power to GS108PEv3.
2. Connect PSE port (1~4) to GS105PE PD port(5).
3. Login GS108PEv3 and set Speed to Disable on the port which deliver power to GS105PE.
4. GS105PE work fine and no Ethernet link between GS108PEv3.
You can also check following screenshot for more details.
1. Set Disable on PSE port which deliver power to GS105PE.
May my solution help you
You can buy GS108PEv3 and enjoy it

Re: Can GS108PE provide power only (no data) to GS105PE?
In my post above I included a JPEG picture which is visible when I am logged on, but disappears when I log off. [oh, I see now, the image is awaiting aproval, so it will be visible soon]. In case someone reads my OP and can not see the picture, here is description:
I want to connect GS105PE to GS108PE as per installation guide: PoE PD Port of GS105PE with PoE PSE Port of GS108PE. This will power up the GS105PE. HOWEVER I do not wish to transfer any data between the switches. Both switches are to serve two independent, unconnected networks (no VLAN), say: 192.168.22.x and 192.168.33.x. Is it possible to disable data communication between the switches and use the GS108PE as a source of power only? (I believe that this is trivial question, and the answer is: yes?).

Re: Can GS108PE provide power only (no data) to GS105PE?
FWIW, the GS108PE specs indicate a maximum power delivery of 15.4W per PoE port. The GS105PE indicates a maximum power consumption of 21.95W, which is more than what the GS108PE can deliver. If you don't connect any PoE devices to the GS105PE, then this is not likely to be a problem.
As to your question, you can try disabling the port, although I'm not sure if this will affect power delivery through the port. You can effectively disable connectivity between the switches by putting the connected ports in different VLANs.

Re: Can GS108PE provide power only (no data) to GS105PE?
Thank you for your response! Yes, I am aware of the power restrictions. My original question could be formulated: is disabling the port in GS108PE going to also disable power delivery through the port? This is what I am uncertain, docs do not help, Internet search also did't bring any joy. There are good reasons why I would prefer not to use VLANs, unless I am forced to. Unfortunatelly this is a pre-sale inquiry and I do not have the switches to try it.
