GS305Pv2 PoE compatibility with Ubiqiti Aircube AC

I am not getting any PoE to the Aircube. Aircube works fine on its power adapter. Are they incompatible?

    Hi Figurz99,

    Welcome to the community!

I am not certain about this information but it seems that Aircube only supports 24V DC POE passthrough from a POE source which won't be possible with your existing NETGEAR GS305Pv2 switch that only supports:

    4 POE/POE+ ports

Up to 30W power per port

    Total POE budget of 63W

    Kind regards,

      Almost correct BrianL

While most Netgear PoE devices are supporting only true industry standard compliant IEEE 802.3af, 802.3af, or 802.3bt, Ubiquity used to implement the lower-cost passive 24 V, which is proprietary.

Power method 24V DC, 0.83A PoE 24V In on Ethernet port 1

      ...

PoE Out Controllable 24V PoE Out (4, 5+, 7, 8-) on WAN Port

Ways off from -any- IEEE industry standards, and not comptible with the GS305Pv2. Not everything claiming to be "PoE" is -really- IEEE compliant PoE.

I'll request a moderto to move this thread to the appropriate Unmanaged Switches Forum to discuss Plug-and-Play Switches with "Unmanaged" in product designation.
