The switch does only reconn the link is lost, so what the switches would expect to be a "direct" copper Ethernet link seems to be interrupted from time to time. Impossible to get more insight on what is going on on the intermediate infrastructure.

What ever interesting design we're facing here. Some kind of CWDM/DWDM fiber multiplexer sharing a single fiber link? Would guess there should be some kind of management/monitoring interface on these devices.
Why not terminate the fiber link (or a specific wavelength) on each switch - from where we could fetch at least some basic fiber link status information from the SFP mofules?
