ReadyNAS remote empty folder
I did some searching and I know this has been posted many times before, but I still cant get my setup to work after reading all the posts. When I click on "Connect to readynas ..." ReadyNAS remote shares folder opens and remains blank.
Here is my setup:
SERVER SIDE:
ReadyNAS Ultra 4 running RAIDiator 4.2.17 with ReadyNAS remote v1.0.9.60 running connected to router and to internet. (Straight forward and simple)
The addon seems to be running fine, its green light stays lit, I have tried toggling it. I made sure that the user is added on the list. Removed it and re-added it.
*I did try to use the invite email, but I did not get any emails from any of my 3 email addresses, maybe that says something. Not sure because thats how one person fixed it.
Checked the settings, and Device ID is correct: NASNAME_MAC
No proxys and no ports.
Client Side:
Macbook Pro running ReadyNAS remote 1.0.21. Again no proxys or anything. Logs on fine, but again empty share folder.
I tried most suggestion, even reseting router and nas security to factory. Nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions? Maybe one of the mods can PM me and I can give access to my NAS box. Thanks in advanced guys!

- cap1AspirantDid you upgrade from 4.2.16? In anycase, can you please install the addon from here - https://remote.readynas.com/download.html and try again.
- rubiks24AspirantAmazing, that worked. Why does the new version not work?
- OlaJAspirantI have a similar problem. I am running also 4.2.17 with ReadyNAS remote v1.0.9.60. However, I could connect from my mac, but can not get iPhone client to work. Installed t client on both my iphone and ipad. It says connected, and shows the user name. But I can not see the ReadyNAS name, which is supposed to be there according to guide.
Did you change the client version or the remote version on the nas? - rubiks24Aspirant

Um thats really weird, well anyways, I removed the readynas remote addon, and downloaded the 1.0.9.51 version and now it works.
I think for the iphone app, you need to enable FTP or something. I read that somewhere but never got around to doing it. Good luck! - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe setup instructions for using Remote on the iPhone are here: http://www.readynas.com/remote_iphone
Have you followed these instructions? - calimoriAspirantI have been trying to set up readynas remote access and run into some of these issues seeing folders under Mac OSX.
Here are the details:
Readynas NV+ updated to latest RAID (November 12, 2010 – Version 4.1.7)
ReadyNAS Remote 1.0.9.51 (old version removed, NAS rebooted, new version installed.)
MAC OSX 10.5.8 client 1.0.21
Windows XP 1.6.5.15
After applying the fix to the ReadyNAS Remote I was able to connect via windows and see the shares but not via Mac. It would connect without errors but show no folders.
Using a console connection, I browsed to /Applications/ReadyNAS\ Remote.app/Contents/MacOS/ and ran the ReadyNAS Remote binary from there to see errors.
This alerted me to the following: "Bind error: Address already in use"
I checked the address of the virtual interface and it was using the same IP as the windows client (which had been disconnected) which was on the 5.170.xxx.xxx range.
Another error was: delete: can't locate 5.170.xxx.xxx. This was my NAS address on the virtual network, clearly shown as a UNC map from my XP machine.
After a while the bind error stopped and I was able to check the open ports on the NAS, plus directly connect to the server under finder. example: AFP://5.170.xxx.xxx
So via other methods I have directly connected via the VPN to the NAS but can still not see anything in the MAC OSX client. - sonocronicAspirant

Hi everybody.
I have the EXACT same problem as "rubiks24" above. The only differens is that I have another NAS:
• Readynas NV+ with RAIDiator 4.1.8
• ReadyNAS Remote v1.0.9.78
Except that I am behind a firewall and a server but it all seem to work fine. I get in to the "Manage ReadyNAS Remote" window and there I can look up my user, add it and apply the settings.
So that must mean that it can communicate to internet and the remote servers. This is my setup:- IP: 192.168.0.115
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
MTU: 1430
Hostname: Ghostserver
Standard-gateway: 192.168.0.200
DNS-settings
Domain name server 1: 192.168.0.116
Domainname: rotmos.local
The CIFS is active for write and read
AFP is not.
The thing that made it work for "rubiks24" did not work for me and I can not ether get a invitation sent to me.
I really don't know what to do anymore. It feels that I have searched and tested every tip I have seen.
Can anyone help me? - sonocronicAspirantI have also done everything in this document to the last step but no luck: http://www.readynas.com/download/remote ... _guide.pdf
- sonocronicAspirantThe only thing I couldn't fix was this:
- If you see “Ethernet adapter Leaf Networks Adapter” but the IP address is not in the
range 5.168.0.0 – 5.168.255.255, then you need to manually configure the
adapter, please see http://www.readynas.com/download/remote ... dapter.pdf,
I have the “Ethernet adapter Leaf Networks Adapter” but its on ip: 5.173.249.135
And the instructions in the pdf doesn't solve it.
I set the ip to 5.0.0.3 as the instruction but when i turn ReadyNAS Remote on again it changes automaticly back to 5.173.249.135! - sonocronicAspirantSolved! Thanks anyway...
