Ultra 2 won't boot diskless

I have an RNDU2000, and I think I have a problem with the disk. Before I buy a new disk and restore data from the backup, I wanted to see if the unit would boot diskless.
The unit became visible in Radar, but no model name was shown, neither did any of the green 'lamps' light up in Radar. I could not connect via ssh nor by web-browser to frontview.
Shouldn't the RNDU2000 boot normally without disk?

- What was shown in the Info (far right) column in RAIDar?
The OS is installed onto the disk(s), so of course it won't be able to boot without the disks.
