Netgear XS716T management VLAN

I want to change the management VLAN from 1 to 2. What's the proper way to change the management VLAN without loosing connection? The switch is still on the factory default 192.168.0.239 address, and I'm connected to port 1 on the switch to my computer. I don't have the router connected to the switch, so it won't get a dhcp.

  • Configure the VLANs first, inlcuding a test/spare untagged port to the (future) management VLAN #2, ideally with the VLAN trunk to the infrastructure/router, then change the management VLAN to #2. Then change the port (cable to the untagged VLAN #2 port), or acess it over the VLAN #2 if connected to the infrastructure.

Thanks, that's how I did it, but just wanted to know if there was a better way.

Grest - can't think of a better way without potentially locking the door behind 8-)
