I'm not sure why you were not provided solution when reaching the Netgear support team. Was your switch a used device when you purchased it? The power of the adapter may not have been providing power enough to the switch. Were you using the original power adapter of the switch?

The GS108LP was new when originally purchased, and the adapter is the one that came with the switch.
When I purchased the switch it was intended to power a new Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR access point. I was never able to get that working and used the Ubiquiti-provided POE injector instead. Netgear support chalked it up to the fact that the Ubituiti AP was an early board revision that had some known issues with some POE implementations. It has worked fine as a non-POE switch since then.
At that time I didn't notice that the switch's Power LED was not lit.
Is the slightly low voltage likely to cause these symptoms?
- Switch Power LED not lit
- Inability to provide POE
As far as I'm aware 1.75 volts under shouldn't be a problem since POE specs have a wider range than that.
