GS116 not working
Hello, would greatly appreciate advice on this possible problem with GS116.
New house, pre-wired cat 7 cabling to most rooms.
Internet cable is connected to Nighthawk X6. Wifi in the vacinity of this works. Also, when laptop directly plugged into back of nighthawk, internet works. Cat 7 cables supplying rooms, when plugged into back of nighthawk, work fine.
Nighthawk then connected to Netgear GS116 16 way switch.
When laptop directly connected to GS116 via ethernet cable, internet works.
However, when cat 7 cable is connected to GS116 switch, and I connect the laptop to the ethernet port in the relevant room, I cannot get any network connection.
I basically haven't a clue why this is. Do I need to set up the switch in some way, and if so, how do I do that?

Welcome to the community!
The GS116 is only a pass-through switch, it is basically just an extension of your router's ports. There is no configuration on the switch. Can you share you network diagram for this one please?

I believe CAT 7 ethernet cables are usually being used on 10-Gigabit connections. The GS116 supports 1Gbps of ethernet connection.
You mentioned that if your laptop is directly connected to the GS116, you are able to access the internet. What ethernet cable did you use between the laptop and the GS116 switch?
