GS316 http message

I have installed a GS316 unmanaged switch. I hooked my HP Laserjet 4050 directy to a port via the printer ip address. Everything has worked fine except this morning I heard the printer running and a page printed with the following message

GET/ HTTP/1.1

Host: It printed the printer ip address

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 ( contained list of operating systems)

Accept:  */*

Connection: keep alive

Is this normal? I'm new to switches. Is it just Firefox browser just confirming printer path or should I be worried?

Re: GS316 http message

It looks like the problem came from the printer, I took a look in Laserjet forum and there're lots of similar cases. it seems that there's a open port at the printer, so that everyone in your network can print a page like this when accessing printeraddress:openport <192.168.1.10:9100 for example>

Re: GS316 http message

Very unlikely caused by a switch, unmanaged switches like the GS316 are pure Layer 2 devices, there is no Layer 3 functionality like TCP, IP, UDP at all.
