Access Problems on ReadyNAS Duo

Hi, I have an access issue with my ReadyNAS duo which has been working fine (as far as I know) for some time. It is running RAIDiator 4.1.15 [1.00a043] on my home network with two networked Windows 10 PCs. I can access ReadyNAS Frontview fine and backup jobs work fine. In windows explorer under "This PC" there is a netgear icon which if I click on it, I can access all of the media files as per a streaming device. If I click on Network in the explorer sidebar there are two devices that relate to the ReadyNAS. The first under Media Devices opens up Frontview. The second is a NAS icon under Storage. Previously this allowed access to all of the shares and their contents. If I click on it now I get the message

An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file.......

Error 0x80004002 No such interface supported.

If I click skip I get an Explorer.exe message-

Windows can't find ". Make sure you have typed the name correctly.

This behaviour is the same on both Windows 10 PCs. On a third winXP (yes!) the shares appear as separate network devices and all of the files can be accessed. I can also access the media files from mu Humax

I've rooted around for a solution to this but none are obvious. Any help would me much appreciated.

Doug

Microsoft is deprecating SMB 1.0 (which is the version of Windows File Sharing that your old Duo uses).

Go into "run windows features on or off", and look for the SMB 1.0 client.  If it is disabled, then enable it and restart the PC.

      Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. You were right, the SMB 1.0 client was not enabled.

Unfortunately, despite enabling it and restarting the PC, the problem persists.

Can you access the shares by entering \\nas-ip-address in the file explorer address bar?  Use the real IP address, and be careful to use the correct slash direction.

Also, check that the PC is classifying the network connection as "private", and that the workgroup is set to match the NAS workgroup name.
