Can't delete volume C
Hardware: RNDU4, 4x3Tb drives
Firmware: 3.2.26
Configuration: RAID 5, all 4 disks in the volume C
I want to create separate volumes on the drive for different purposes, still spreading the volumes across all 4 disks. I understand that I need to delete Volume C, then create the new volumes. When I select Volumes -> Volume Settings -> Delete Volume, I receive the following message:
"This volume cannot be deleted until all iSCSI LUN(s) on this volume have been deactivated or deleted."
Except, I haven't configured any iSCSI targets. How do I proceed?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredMake sure the iSCSI service is disabled.
- vandermerweMasterIf it's not letting you delete existing volume, why not just factory default and set the NAS up from scratch. You're going to wipe the disks anyway by deleting volumes.
- TonyM1AspirantThe iSCSI service is not enabled.
The factory default automatically creates the C volume with no opportunity to intervene, as far as I can tell. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat web browser and version are you using?
Have you tried doing a factory default and using The latest version of RAIDar during the 10 minute countdown to choose what RAID you want created? - TonyM1AspirantI'm using Firefox 27.0.1
Yes, when doing the factory reset I go into RAIDar 4.3.8 to initiate the configuration, but that only allows me to select the RAID level. It doesn't give me the opportunity to change which volumes get created.
As this is a clean install, I'm open to doing a factory reboot, despite that it takes FOREVER to resync the last drive. - TonyM1AspirantProblem resolved. One cannot select the option to prevent the initial dialog warning (the one posted, above) from creating additional dialogs. Following that rule, despite the warning message, which seems to not apply to my setup, I get the dialog requesting for the inpute Delete Volume as text. All proceeds as expected. I get a dialog saying the volume is deleted, then immediately requesting to create a new. I get the opportunity to reduce the amount of space consumed by the C volume. Unfortunately, the software doesn't give the opportunity to create multiple volumes at once, then suffer only one reboot/resync.
