New Disk, X-RAID is Dead
I had a drive fail which stopped my unit from booting. I replaced the drive and was able to boot normally.
However, on Frontview, the status says "Volume C: Offline, RAID Level , disks, 0% of 0 MB used" after installing the new disk. On Volume Settings, all 3 disks show as active with no error, and the "resync volume" button is disabled.
How can I get the RAID to rebuild itself? I am unable to access any of my shares.

- vandermerweMasterDid you remove the bad disk and replace it with the NAS powered on? You should have.
Do you have a backup?
Did you receive any messages about a new disk or a resync starting?
Try rebooting the unit, possibly more than once to see if the resync starts. - abakesAspirantThanks for the reply!
I did not replace the bad disk when the NAS was powered on because the NAS would not boot (even into support mode) with the bad disk in it.
I have no backup ( I know, I know, bad!).
Mo messages were received about a new disk or resync (although is does see the new disk properly).
I have rebooted the unit several times. I have also left the unit on for an extended duration to see if it needed to anything to initialize the disk.

What gets me is that the "resync" button is greyed out and can't be clicked. I even tried reinstalling my firmware. - vandermerweMasterWere you able to boot without the new disk or the old disk?
- abakesAspirantYes
- vandermerweMasterOk.
Have you booted up without old or new disk, then added the new disk? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserOf course if it boots without the old/new disk, then the first step is to create or update your backups.
Then try hot-inserting the new disk.
