RND2110-100NAS unable to map network drive in Windows 10

I have a ReadyNas (RND2110-100NAS). I have not been able to open any files stored in it from my Windows 10 laptop since three weeks ago. It is visible from RaidAir, I can access the set up UI but when I click on "Browse" I get the following message: "Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.229" If I click on diagnose I get the following message: "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection"

The SMB is active and the workgroup is called the same in Windows and ReadyNas.

I am able to access the files from my MacBook Pro, which leads me to believe it might be a standard file protocols issue, works with AFP but not with CIFS.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  • It turns out my laptop needed to update to the latest Windows 10, after the update I am now able to access the ReadyNas.

Start by going into "turn windows features on or off", and make sure that SMB 1 client is enabled.

Then try running cmd, and enter

    net use * /delete /y
    net use t: \\192.168.0.229\C /user:admin nas-admin-password

using the real NAS admin password of course.  Be careful on the typing (particularly the two different slash directions).

The first command will clear any open SMB sessions.  The second attempts to mount the NAS data volume as drive letter T:

net use * /delete /y There are no entries in the list.
net use t: \\192.168.0.229\C /user:admin USEDMYPASSWORD The network path was not found.

Does RAIDar confirm that the IP address is, in fact 192.168.0.229?  Have you made any other changes regarding network configuration?
