ReadyNAS 104 - USB HDD doesnt show up.
Hi, we use external HDDs from WD to make a daily backup from the NAS. So we change daily the external HDDs drive, which is connected to the front usb port. This works fine for weeks, but since a few days the usb drive won’t show up when it was changed. We need to reboot the NAS System to make the new drive is visible. This problem is for all the external USB Drives we use.
The NAS is an RN104 with OS 6.6.0. The USB Drives are WD Elements 3TB with external Power. The User who changes the drives does a disconnection to the external usd drive before he change it. The Drives are formatted with NTFS.
Any Idea, please?

Hello Soft-Com,
Have you guys tried the other USB ports of the NAS?
I would also like to verify if you still remember if this started to happen before or after the firmware update.

Hello JennC,
thanks for your reply.
We will try another Port at the evening, because the System has an active backup task at the moment.
I looked at the log files and this shows that this problem occures after the firmware upgrade to 6.6.0.

Hi, also have the same problem on my readynas 104 with firmware 6.6.0 and full backup to 3TB my passport USB drives connected to the front USB port.
During backup the nas hangs and I have to power cycle it to access it again !!
Is it better to use the rear USB ports ?
