Great, nice to hear that this is now working. I agree that the most likely cause was a bug related to the existing NTFS partition.
For future reference, deleting the partitions via the windows disk manager would have been enough. You don't need to zero the drive with Seatools or format under windows. If there are no partitions, the NAS creates the ones it wants, and initializes the disk.
And if the NAS properly recognizes the NTFS partition structure, it would begin by deleting the partitions, reinitializing the disk, and formatting it again. So there is no real value in pre-formatting the drive.
