Hi
well I didn't recognize the button as the issue actually (I never switched it off), trouble is that the unit becomes unresponsive once in a while and it can't be accessed from the network then. pushing the power switch will always start the shutdown but most of the time it says shutting down and then nothing happens ...
I can then just push the button for 5seconds and it shuts down straight away ! After that I can restart and network connection is active again ...
Shutting down from Raidar mostly gives the same problem.

I think the key here is that the button itself is working (the NAS is detecting that is is pressed).

This would mean it is not necessarily a PSU problem but could also be a software issue ?

I certainly think the PSU is a possibility. But I think the jury is out on whether it's that or something else (hardware or software).
If you have an ATX supply around, then I'd go with Sandshark's suggest to try that out and see if anything changes.

That is a different kind of button problem that I toght you were talking about, and does sound like more of a software issue than a hardware (including power supply) one, though it doesn't eliminate a hardware issue.

Following Sandsharks remark I investigated the software side a bit more.
One of the errors shown in the diagnistics Log ( RIP [ ] filp_close+0x9/0x6f ) seems directly connected to the shutdown or restart command.
To me this seemed that something is preventing the shutdown so I decided to uninstall the apps one at a time.
The first , Sickrage (by Poussin) immediately threw me out of frontview when I uninstalled !
After a restart now at least the shutdown AND the WOL seem to work again .
Fingers crossed that there was something in that app that caused the trouble ...
To be continued
