Remove DfsrPrivate folders from backups
So I am trying to eleimate the DfsrPrivate folders from my backups.
Here is my setup.
(2) windows 2012r2 serivers setup as file servers with DFSR file replication enabled.
1st NAS - ReadyNAS 314 - Set to make hourly copies of windows shares via "Windows/NAS (Timestamp"
2nd NAS - ReadyNAS 316 - Set to make Daily backups of shares on 1st NAS via "Rsync"
I have included the DfsrPrivate folder in the list of excluded file and folder types.
Yet the folder and all of its contense gets copied. Anyone else see this?

Hello Jeff_howard,
Unfortunately, the exclude option is only for RSYNC protocol in the Backup Job feature of the ReadyNAS which is supported by Linux OS, MAC OS and Windows (Cygwin, Grsync or SFU).

It’s the Rsync portion of the backup process that I am trying to get to work correctly. I know the Timestamp method on backup #1 will not filter anything.
It backup #2 from NAS to NAS using the Rsync protocol that should be filtering out the file and folders. In fact it is filtering out the file types just fine it’s only the folders it is not filtering.

Hello Jeff_howard,
I see. So, you are reporting only the 2nd backup which is NAS-to-NAS via RSYNC.
Are you getting any error in the backup job logs?
Regards,
