RoboCopy keeps copying the same files

I am trying to use RoboCopy to backup a Windows Small Business Server 2003 to the ReadyNAS.

But instead of copying only new files, RoboCopy keeps copying all files even though they already exist.

My script is correct, it works going to another hard drive on the server itself.

help?

thanks.

  • Becasue of the EXT3 time stamp differences use the /FFT "assume FAT File Times (2-second granularity)" with your robocopy command and it will work
  • Just wanted to confirm that this solution worked for me.

I know this is an old topic, but many correct answers are still correct and helpful even after 3 years.
  • This is the first website the comes up with Robocopy problems, so I've just created an account to post what I did to fix it.

I'm not copying to a ReadyNas, but rather a Win2k8 server. I had to create a GPO forcing time synchronization between the servers and the clients.
I also had to us the /M and the /MIR options... even though the functionality is redundant within MIR... it wasn't working.

Once I did that, I had to let Robocopy do a complete copy again to reset the archive bits.
