Share Accessible from FTP by all users after being Deleted

I have a Readynas Duo V1. with RAIDiator 4.1.9-T15.

I deleted a share a few weeks back. Well, I connected to my server from another user account from offsite, I noticed the share!? I noticed there was only

I did a few test today and sure enough, the share is accessible by all users. I tried to find it, but I cannot find it on the c drive at all...

1) Why is this share still showing and has content?

2) Why those the shave have no security?

3) How can I fix this?

4) Could I be compromised?

And you nave not installed any add-ons that might explain it?

If you make a backup, you could do a factory reset and restore the data.

Re: Share Accessible from FTP by all users after being Delet

no installs that should explain it... I have plenty of backups (on/offsite). I thought the backup would be the only way... I did a factory restore and restore of my data one time in the past...

I am more gun shy this time around because I have a lot of critical data and do not desire a lot of down time and reconfigurating.

If you do not mind, what would be the proper restore procedure. The only add-ons I want are the squeeze server and dlna. I need my shares(especially settings as they take a while to rebuild), users, groups, backup settings,... well, all settings.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Share Accessible from FTP by all users after being Delet

Well, since we have this unexplained vulnerability, the safest thing is to power down, remove the disks, connect them to a PC, and delete the partitions.

Then put them back in the NAS, and start completely over. Install the add-ons, re-enter the configuration by hand, and then restore the data from backups.

If you want to try the usual procedure, it would be:
(a) save the configuration to your PC with frontview.
(b) Do a factory default. You can do this using the Duo / NV / NV+ / X6/600 section here: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... _boot_menu, or by powering down, removing the disks, deleting the partitions in Windows, and putting them back in.
(c) Then reinstall any add-ons
(d) Restore the configuration from the previously saved config file

At this point I would make sure the securitycams directory is gone.

(e) restore the data from backup

BTW, you could open a support ticket. They might be able to tell what happened, and have an easier way to clean it.
