[Solved] Only root can use SSH (Ultra 4)
Hello everyone, please don't shoot me down if I'm posting in the wrong place, I am pretty new here :)
I bought the readynas ultra 4 some days ago and I am very happy with it, installed the "standard" add ons, enable root, transmission etc. and everything is working very well, sort of. I have one problem though.
I am interested in running irssi on my nas through a screen, I have installed the necessary packages using apt and they are working without problems. But there seems to be a strange problem, I can only use SSH for root user, is there a simple enabled/disabled flag in some config file that needs to be changed? I really don't wan't to be running irssi and screen on the root user, to me that seems pretty dangerious, I have tried googling the problem and I find many debian related posts but I must admit that my knowledge of these config files are relatively limited. I tried a but but just ended up breaking ssh access alltogether, luckily I had also installed webmin and could fix the problem there, restoring the default config for sshd.
If someone has done this or if there is a post on this forum that you could please direct me to, I have tried a lot of searching but I couldn't find anything.
Hope you alle are having a nice easter holiday :)

- yes, enable ssh is for root only by default
I belive you can enable shell access for other users by editing the passwd file, becareful though if you corrupt it you may have to factory default to regain access. - sortebillAspirantThanks a lot! That did the trick!
