Using Rsync

Question

Hello.&nbsp;I want to use Rsync to make a backup or replication of a Synology NAS.I have done this before but not to a Netgear ReadyNAS.So the source is a Synology NAS and the destintion is a ReadyNas.&nbsp;I have made a share folder and in setting of the folder I have selected Rsync and SMB as protocols.My source (Synology) logs on as admin.&nbsp;Are there any more settings I need to select to make this work ?&nbsp;If you need any more info about my system please let me know.&nbsp;Petter&nbsp;&nbsp;

Just reverse source and destination, since Synology would be the remote source, and the ReadyNAS the destination.

This is the setting on my ReadyNAS.I have created a shared folder called BACKUP_NAS3 and set the network protocol as shown.This is infact all I have done on the destination NAS.Is this all I need to do on the destination ?&nbsp;

If you are running the backup job on the ReadyNAS, then you shouldn't need to enable rsync on the share (but it does no harm).
&nbsp;
If you are running the backup on the Synology then you do (and I think you've done all that's required).

Okay...thanks.So what you are saying is that if the ReadyNAS is the destination then I do not need to spesify Rsync on the ReadyNAS ?&nbsp;My problem is that when I from my Synology backup setup search for a Rsync device (server) it does not find it. It only discover two other Synology devices I have which I use as replication for other (QNAP) devices, &nbsp;I can put in the IP address for the ReadyNAS directly and then it finds the shared folder on my ReadyNAS. &nbsp;But when I define a scheduled backup or if I test the connection from my Synology to the ReadyNAS it failes.
