ReadyNAS 102 not being recognised by my LG TV after updating to 6.5.0 firmware

I have been succesfully streaming from my ReadyNAS 102 to my smart LG TV ever since I got it .  Recently I added a TV series onto the HDD, but my smart TV did not find the folder.  Now a week later my TV can't even find the ReadyNAS unit at all.  I know the network is fine as I run a wored network and also have a ReadyNas Duo.  My two computers can find and access both ReadyNAS, but the TV only recognises the older Duo.

I have shut down and restarted the unit to see if that made it discoverable.  My RaidAR finds both NAs units on my Win 10 pc, and also my Mint Linux machine can access both NAS units.

The only change that I can think could have had an effect is that I recently updated the firmware on the ReadyNAS 102 to 6.5.0 automatically.  That was done about the time that I started having problems discovering the 102 through the DLNA LG smart TV.

Maybe I missed a check box I needed to tick in the 102's settings?

I am a reasonably competent PC user, and no newbvie, but I am certainly not an expert in NAS or netwroks.

Basically I throw myself on the mercy of the experts on this forum.

  • Hi BilboD,

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Also big thanks for the very detailed info and troubleshooting you did on your own. Kindly check my suggestions below.

    1. Disable ReadyDLNA completely under System->Settings->Services.

    2. Re-enable it and rescan for local media files.

    3. Once done, reconfigure the DLNA media settings of the share where the said media files are stored (tick the all checkbox).

    Hope this helps!

    Kind regards,

Well, I haven'y checked  through the TV yet, but I suspect your answer will have resolved the problem.  On going through your steps I discovered that the DLNA option had already been deselected (possibly due to the firmware upgrade).  I have enabled DLNA and rescanned so hopefully all is hunky dory.  Thank you for the step through.
