Readynas 104 SMB won't activate

Been using it for almost 2 years and no problem.

All of suddent I can't enalbe SMB and SSH. Just now I can enable SSH but SMB still not activating. Did a OS reinstallation, and upgrade to 6.8.1, non of them helped.

I did some research and the only way is to factory reset, but with almost 5TB data stored on my 3 hard drives, I really hate to do that.

Please help me as this is a really common problem and I have no idea why can't I just fix it with simple reset on the settings.

Remote check your NAS, permission changed to guest, so smb can't start,

I chenged them to root, then SMB start successfully.

Please try to access your NAS again via SMB.

Which apps did you install on your NAS?

Could do you please check below file's permission, check if they change to guest, they should be root, the issue is caused by some apps installed on NAS.

But I have no idea how to check the files' permission. Do I have to use Putty and connect SSH?

Yes, SSH access via putty,

You need to eable SSH in Admin GUI->System->Settings,

SSH login username is root, password is the password you login admin GUI.

Good, I just got in.

Still trying to find how to check the permission. 

As for installed apps, I did install a BT app few months ago, but uninstalled yersterday when I had the issue with SMB. and yesterday after I find the SMB is not working I installed a SMB plus.
