WTB - ReadyNAS NV power supply
My ReadyNAS NV power supply just died. No online store seems to have them in stock, ebay has nothing. The part number is RND4PSU1-10000S.
Does anybody have one they can sell me? I am fine buying the entire NV/NV+ (if no HDs are included).
I would also be fine with borrowing someone's power supply just so I can get all of my data from the NAS. I could pay for both shipping directions, plus some extra if wanted.
I live/work in the Baltimore, MD area. Thanks.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you sure the PSU died? Are there signs it died e.g. a burning smell?
Take a look at http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/i_ve_enabled_the_schedule_power_timer_option_on_my_nv_but_now_i_cannot_power-on_my_readynas._what_should_i_do
Also please check if your serial is in this range: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=54911#p54911 - christ1AspirantI tried the battery trick but the power supply still does not work. I have also already had my power supply replaced since it did fall in the range of defective power supplies. Thanks though.
- maxblackAspirantYou could PM member CheezHead whose company (probably still has) NV+ chassis to sell--very reasonable. With or without HDD brackets (no HDDs).
- CheezHeadAspirantThanks maxblack, yes I do and I have sent a PM.

This is an extremely useful post.
It should actually be a sticky!
Saved my day.
Thx,
Fermin DCG - jvdkAspirantFor those ReadyNAS NV+ users with a busted power power supply, unable to find the rather pricy RND4PSU1-10000S OEM replacement;
The NV+ uses a generic Flex ATX power supply ST-220FUB05E made by SEVENTEAM.
http://www.seventeam.com.tw/product_contentx.php?pid=146&cid=53
These will sell for around $30 and are readily available at various computer hardware outlets. There are also several models from other manufacturers with the same form factor that can be used.
Note that Netgear has modified the stock PSU in two ways:
-The 40mm fan from the stock PSU has been removed, which is probably the reason these units are more prone to failure. I removed the fan but am considering to modify the back panel of the PSU chassis to accomodate the fan since noise is not really a problem in my case. Up to you.
-The ATX power connector of the NV, NV+ and 1100 is slightly different from the standard ATX pinout. The -12V (blue) and -5V (white) have to be changed to +12V (yellow). This is really easy. Just compare the wire colors of your original PSU connector with the replacement and change according to this document:
http://www.readynas.com/download/archive/pdf/ReadyNAS_PSU_pinout.pdf
Pay attention to pin 12 and pin 18.
-Jan - SoccerGuy3AspirantMy power supply has died. I found one of the ATX PSU mentioned above. Quick question so I am really clear. On the connector, is it simply a matter or splitting off one of the yellow leads and splicing into the #12 an 18 pin outs?
- MInDevAspirantI'm planning to buy a replacement PSU for my ReadyNAS NV+1, but can't find a ST-220FUB05E from any supplier in the UK. I'm looking instead at a 220w Flex ATX Power Supply FSP220-50LC. From the discussion in this thread:

...it seems that same power cable modifications would be necessary. I'm wondering whether any of the cable adapters I'm seeing advertised by PSU suppliers - e.g., something like the "20/24pin PSU adaptor" on this page:
http://www.evercase.co.uk/PowerSupplyUnits.htm
...would do the same job? Thank you in advance - vandermerweMasterWhat about this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003 ... AKC2T987ZB
It is the Netgear modified version. - MInDevAspirantOh wow - thank you very much. That's more expensive than the other suggested replacements, but if it means avoiding the hassles of cable modifications and so on it might well be worth the additional cost. Much appreciated!
