msmtp authentication method auth plain

No file msmtp.queue.log. msmtp.log contains only the error specified in the topic. I use ssh to work with files and the system. This is more convenient than the web interface. P.S. I'm using the latest version of the ReadyNas system (6.9.3)

Try downloading the log zip file from the web ui anyway, as it will extract/create some logs on the fly. If Netgear chimes in, they will want to see the full log zip (though you don't post it here).

Download logs - this is the first thing I did. There is no msmtp.queue.log file in the archive. The file msmtp.log contains only the lines with an error: Jul 24 15:55:31 host=mail.domain.local tls=off auth=on user=admin@domain.ru from=ng@domain.ru recipients=admin@domain.ru errormsg='the server does not support authentication method LOGIN' exitcode=EX_UNAVAILABLE. The DNS settings are correct, the address mail.domain.local resolves normally.
I'm not seeing how to specify AUTH PLAIN vs AUTH LOGIN from the web ui.
Does the mail server support TLS using port 465 or 587? If it does, then perhaps those other ports will work without needing to manually configure smtp.
You could try manually configuring msmtprc, though it's possible that it won't survive a firmware update or OS reinstall. It seems likely that it would survive a normal reboot.
I use only 25 port without encryption. IMHO server configuration for the client - perversion. =) I still want to understand how to tell the system to use auth plain, rather than auth login.
I tried to change the settings of msmtprc, but all to no avail. The settings made to the file in the manual are saved on reboot, but this does not affect the result. The same error appears in the log. You can give an example of setting auth plain in a file
msmtprc for NG ReadyNas, OS version 6.9.3.
