netgear R6300 slow wifi download speed except for my nexus phones and tablets

Ican get the 5G wifi connexion with my nexus phones and tablets at 30Mb/s download but I can't even see that 5G wifi connexion with my computer and laptop and I can only get 3 Mb/s. How can I fix this? can I buy a USB key that will allow my computers hardware to connect to a 5G?
