Bridging vs. access point
N300 works great as an extender but I was trying to have it as an access point to boost my signal. Wife can't handle switching networks to the ***_EXT network, and I am looking to just boost the current signal. I have a hard wire access to plug it in if neccessary.
If I can't use this product, what do I need to get?

Re: Bridging vs. access point
What's the exact model number? N300 is a speed class, not a model number.

Re: Bridging vs. access point
The WN3000RPV1 cannot be hardwired to the main router.
You should, however, be able to set the name of the extender's Wi-Fi network to be the same as the main Wi-Fi network. Just be sure to use a different channel.
