Cant connect 5g on extender

Purchased new C6250 Router modem-connected and activated no problem.  Have an existing extender-AC750-EX6100. Reset the extender and was able to connect to the 2.4 network ext via WPS no problem. Instructions note to follow same steps to connect to 5gz network but I have had no luck. I connected to the 2.4 extension and when trying to log into mywifiext  I get a message that I am not connected to the extension.  Any thoughts on connecting to the 5_ext?

Please disregard-the 5.0ext showed up in the list of networks. I was a bit to quick to cry out for help.

I was try factory resettin the extender and trying the setup using the installation wizard and not wps. I've had better luck this route
