When I click on the extenders new WiFi name it doesn’t connect to the internet. I have tried resetting it and still doesn’t work.

You haven't said much about what you are doing and what the rest of your network looks like.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

The extender doesn’t seem to be connecting to the existing WiFi. I don’t know how else to explain it.

Are you setting it up using WPS push button or using the installation assistant? 

What error does it give you?
