EX6200V2 as Access Point won't connect 5ghz through ethernet; still shows connected through router
Hi. I searched this before I posted but couldn't find a relevant answer.
I just switched my EX6200 to AP mode on my ethernet.
Everything on the 2.4ghz network is working fine.
On the 5ghz, it still shows as connected to my router's wifi network and as a "no connection" on the mywifiext.net status page.
What steps should I take to most efficiently resolve this?
Thanks so much for your help.
Hi DeeBeeEff,
The 5GHz connection that you are referring on the screenshot is the extender to device connection. That means that you currently do not have any wireless device/s connected to the 5GHz band of the extender. That should change once you have a device connected to the 5GHz band of the extender.

Hi DeeBeeEff,
Welcome to the community!
It is best to factory reset the extender and go through the setup and selecting the Access Point mode. This allows the extender to be properly configured as an access point and not rely on its' wireless connection to the router. Page 48 and 21 of the user manual on this link may help out.

Dexter,
Thanks for the reply.
I had actually done that right before I read your post. In fact, I downloaded new firmware and then did a factory reset. Nothing changed. Image below shows the status page.
Notice that it says the 5Ghz is NOT connected? Well, as I was writing this I decided to give it a try. It actually IS connected to the internet, so my real problem was that it said it wasn't connected so I just ASSUMED it wasn't.
Also, it does still show connected to my router as a wifi connected device rather than through the ethernet, but it can't be as I have turned off the wifi broadcast of my 5G radio from the router.
Anyway, bottom line is that it is working even though it thinks it isn't! ;)
Thanks,
Dave

Dexter,
Thanks for the info.
That was it. I connected my iPhone to it just now and it shows connected.
Makes sense now.
