EX7700 Can’t connect to wifi

We purchased the extender a year ago and have never managed to get it to work. NETGEAR-EXT does not appear on the list of available networks after we plug the extender in. We’ve tried resetting our router and moving the extender around the flat, but nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

    Hi JoeDH,

    Good day!

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the extender. Please provide us the following information for better isolation of the issue:

    1. What is the brand and model of the main router?

    2. Did you reset the extender already for a full minute?

    3. Does all wireless devices cannot detect the NETGEAR_EXT initially? Did you try connecting a laptop or PC wired to the extender for the setup?

    4. What is the LEDs status of the extender when you plug in?

    5. Have you tried the WPS method?

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Oliver

      1. It’s supplied by TalkTalk. I think the manufacturer is Sagemcom.

      2.Yes

      3. I was using an iPhone. I’ll try using a laptop

4.Three LEDs starting from the left stay lit. The fourth one is dark

      5.I don’t know what this is :)

I've run into a lot more difficulties. The Netgear-EX network doesn't appear on the list of available networks on my laptop after I plug it n. Another problem I'm having is that I can't access the Netgear app anymore. I've tried re-setting my password by going to routerlogin.net and routerlogin.com but the login window the instructions say should appear doesn't. If the network doesn't appear on the laptop then the router is faulty, no?

An added issue might be the fact we're now not sure if the device is registered to my login details or my wife's. She set up the account when we first got it, but I was the one who downloaded the Nighthawk app with my details.

This is all very becoming v. complicated. Netgear's instructions are not clear and your website is not easy to follow.
