Support for VLAN-tagged PPPoE with Nighthawk Mesh MK63 AX1800
Background: The set-up of this product is currently expert only if the customer's ISP requires a VLAN-tagged PPPoE connection. This is due to the package insert misleading that the Nighthawk APP may be used to set-up the MR60 router. Although the router supports VLAN-tagged PPPoE, the APP does not. While the APP falls-back to a webpage for static IP or PPPoE set-up, the PPPoE subpage does not expose VLAN-tagged settings. Workaround: Access VLAN-tagged settings via the router's webpage directly, not through the fallback. The easiest way is link via ethernet, browse to the router's IP (192.168.1.1) and enter the default of "admin" and "password". Then click Advanced>Advanced Setup> VLAN/Bridge Settings > Enable VLAN-tag> Apply (VLAN 10, internet is pre-populated). Alternatively, wireless can be set-up and personalized in the APP followed by browsing to 192.168.1.1, personalized log-in, and clicking as above). Suggestions: 1) expose VLAN-tagged PPPoE in the APP 2) add VLAN-tagged set-up to the fallback webpage for PPPoE set-up or 3) add above instructions for VLAN-tagged PPPoE as a packing insert.
