Using same SSID as router
Hi I have a nighthawk 1900 router and got Netgear E6100 to use as extenders. I have used other extenders in the past where I have used the same SSID as the router - and I have not noticed a significant performance degradation. But when I do the same with E6100, my speed drops down to 2 Mbps from >50 Mbps when using separate. I expect some degradation, but this seems extreme.
Netgear recommends against using the same SSID explicitly (pop up when you try to change the name). But has anyone done this with a 6100? Do you see the same extreme drop in speed? Anyone know other configs that I may have to look at? Thanks in advance for any help I can get!
