WIFI Extender gives off high pitched ringing noise

Anybody know why this extender is giving off a high pitched ringing noise?  It's quiet but it is non-stop.  Is this typical for an extender?  Any way to stop it other than just returning it to Best Buy and getting a different brand or model?
