WN3000RP connection question

I've had my Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender, Model WN3000RP for several months. I set it up with minimum effort. Now however (drum roll, please), I changed ISPs and my WN3000RP now is not recognized. I've tried looking at the user manual but it says to go to "http://www.mywifiext.net" but that appears to be an invalid address! I can't, of course...., find my original box or materials or CD (if I ever had one). So am I just hosed??

I tried the factory reset but not much joy there. When I plug the Extender into the electric socket, after a few minutes, the amber status light changes to green, and the lights turn green then on the WPS, Status, and Link Rate comes on. The PC-to-Extender light does not come on at all. I've tried everything but I'm really stopped by my inability to go to that website that doesn't work! Has it been changed? So what can I do now??

In case it's relevant: Windows Vista, BT Infinity Router.

Thanks for any help.

Re: WN3000RP connection question

2arrows=off means you dont have a device connected wired/wireless on the extender maybe that is the factor why you cant access the user interface sir.

since you have new ISP(I assume you have new modem+router) that means also the extender is needed to be reconfigured to get the new settings of the new modem+router.;)

try to check this link for PDF manual.

Re: WN3000RP connection question

Thanks but I got it working now. It had to do with ports and drivers and more bs kinds of stuff. I just kept chipping away at it until I hit the right combination....more determination and luck than anything.

I downloaded the manual from the link you provided in case I need it for something else some day, so thanks again for that. I still don't understand why it gives a URL (http://www.mywifiext.net) that is no longer alive, however.

Re: WN3000RP connection question

Janet, it seems that if you're not seeing mywifiext.net, you're not actually connecting to the range extender (WN3000RP) from your computer wifi. Instead, you're connecting directly to the new access point/modem.

You should be able to determine this from the SSIDs, would think. Get the right one, and you may have both better signal, and should be able to see the extender on mywifiext.net.
