WiFi Range Extender (6150) has Great Speed at 5Ghz, but Very Slow at 2.4
Hope to get some help - after a factory reset this past weekend and a reconfigure for my network, all is up and running now. I have my Netgear X4 router upstairs and the range extender downstairs, but not too far apart (different floors). I seem to remember I would get very speeds when I'd test (use the Ookla app on my smartphone and on my Mac, I use a web site to measure speeds) prior to the factory reset. Now, the speeds when measured on the 5gz are close to 90-100mb download but the 2.4 band is lucky to see 15-20. If I measure the regular 2.4 band (NOT the ext network), i get very fast speeds, so it seems like it's something within the extender settings? Any tips? I realize it could be neighbors, microwaves, etc etc, but this did not seem to be an issue before. The Extender is in the dining room near the kitchen. Help?

Do you have any old wifi devices connected to the 2.4 ghz network?

Re: WiFi Range Extender (6150) has Great Speed at 5Ghz, but Very Slow at 2.4
Hi,
I have several other devices yes. However, I found by further testing, speeds improved quite a bit. Of course, not as fast as 5Ghz, but well within my expectations. I realize due to the proximity of the extender to microwaves and other things including neighbors wifi, there will be times of intermittent slowness. Thank you!
