Best range for 6 wireless access points??
I have a house that has 16 rooms, approx 20,000 square feet, 2 floors, it has ethernet in wired into 6 of the rooms. There is a main rack in the centre of the house on the ground floor with the broadband coming in through BT ADSL. The walls in the house are very thick.*
I have already tried Devolo homeplugs and they are not working very good. So have decided wireless access points are the way to go.
The router is a Netgear DGND3700 attached to a netgear 8 port gigabit switch. There are 6 wired ethernet connections that are going straight into the switch and then into 6 of the rooms around the house.
I would like to have a single wireless network covering the whole house and garden area.*
Whats the best way of setting this up so that im using using all the wired connections going into the 6 rooms?
Also I was looking at using the netgear WNDRMAC routers as access points, but im not sure now. I would appreciate it if anyone has a better solution?
I also have a single wireless printer that needs to be connected to the wireless access points. I have pc's, macs, iphones, ipads that need to be able to print from.
Im not entirely sure how to wire this all up?
Thanks Guys!

they have great products and free tools.... and price of AP is quite affordable - VaporNoviceI want to use the wired connections into all the rooms with wireless access points attached.
When connecting the access points up, what channels shall i use for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz? Can i use 1 ssid, so that when walking around the house there will be a seamless connection on mobile devices.
Does anyone know when a wireless printer attached to the single ssid, can anyone on that wireless network print to the wireless printer? - jmizoguchiVirtuoso

openmesh products or any AP will work with wiredWhen connecting the access points up, what channels shall i use for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz? Can i use 1 ssid, so that when walking around the house there will be a seamless connection on mobile devices.
All different from overlapping.
both band should have different SSID>
seamless = roaming ..... depending on how the mobile device will adapt to each AP
ex. google roaming aggressiveness , you will see how computer has setting that helps to roam better... - VaporNoviceWhen having one ssid, do i just use 1 password for all access points?
The connection im running at the moment is:
Adsl router to gigabit unmanaged switch, ethernet from switch to access points.
So do i give each access point its own ip address outside the Dhcp but on the same subnet?
DHCP range= 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.100
Router= 192.168.1.1
AP1= 192.168.1.2
AP2= 192.168.1.3
AP3= 192.168.1.4
And so on for the 6 access points? - jmizoguchiVirtuosoHow are you going to roam with same SSID and different encryption
Mmm... Same SSID,encryption
