9 TopicsUsing wifi router as an access point
OK, this is an oldie but a goldie! I have an old Netgear FWAG114 a/b/g wireless router that I'm using as an access point. I've disabled DHCP (my Netgear WNR2000 is assigning IP addreses) and connected it to the WNR2000 - port 1 on the 2000, WAN port on the FWAG114. NADA!!! If I connect it to one of the LAN ports on the FWAG114 it works fine. The kicker is, I used a setup similar to this with my Netgear FVS338/WAG304 and the FWAG114 for about 5 years and it worked perfectly connected via the WAN port. Any ideas???Solved15KViews0likes13CommentsBT OpenReach FVS336Gv2

Hello the community, I'm searching an actual product able to replace the FVS336GV2, I don't need WIFI, just 2 LAN connection and the most important is the VPN possibility with the old NETGEAR ProSafe VPN client. Thanks for answer me. Regards Damien4KViews0likes2CommentsWhich routers are VPN servers?
Is there a simple way to find out which Netgear routers can be configured to be VPN servers? This is not one of the search criteria options and even when looking at the individual specifications, it's hard to tell if a model supports this feature or not.2.8KViews0likes3CommentsPort forwarding and blocking
I got a UTM5 and for some unknown reason ports such as 445 are not even hitting the firewall. No packets are even touching this thing which leads me to belive my isp (Time Warner) is blocking. I spoke to three level 3 techs who all confirm Time Warner does NOT block and ports. I have other ports open and working fine such as 3389. My modem is Netgear CM600. Netgear Level 2 support is clueless to what is happening since the utm5 is configured properly. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?2.2KViews0likes0CommentsFVS336G How enable for Spanning Tree Protocol?
Hello, I am using the product FVS336G as my router & firewall. I have noticed that it does not work with my 4 Sonos music players if they are connected to different ports of FVS336G. I researched this issue. This effect is apparently due to the fact that FVS336G does not support STP, "Spanning Tree Protocol". My question: Is there a way to enable Spanning Tree Protocol ability in FVS336G? Thanks mdl91072.9KViews0likes1CommentFVS318G VPN failure

HelpSolved8.4KViews0likes8CommentsReadyOS 6 and AFP over IPv6
I filed a case with Netgear technical support back in July of 2013 (case #21585012) about AFP how AFP wasn't working over IPv6 on my new ReadyNAS RN316 (ReadyOS 6.0.8 at the time). That case was closed on 8/20/2013 with the following response: I apologize for the long delay in getting back to you as I was awaiting words back from engineering. I was able to confirm that this fix should be addressed in the 6.1 firmware release due to be out in a month or so. Let me know if there is anything else I might be able to help answer for you, thanks. In October of 2013, I filed a new case (case #22043449) about the same issue in 6.1.3. This was 'escalated' to L3 support (which did nothing). Here we are in 2015 and ReadyOS 6.4.0 and to my (lack of) surprise, AFP over IPv6 still doesn't work. This works flawlessly on my Ultra 4 Pro with the old OS (4.x). Has anyone ever tried AFP over IPv6 ? Any pointers how to make ReadyNAS care about this issue?Solved3.5KViews0likes4CommentsReadyNAS storage over Internet access
I can't do anything with my files over the internet on the USB storage I have attached to my router. I can connect to the USB drive via Ftp and I can see the files and so on but I can't copy/delete/view/rename/or transfer anything to or from the storage. Why? I would appreciate help greatly.
