I have an RBR50 and two RBS50 satellites that work great. I purchased a Parental Controls subscription about 2 years ago, and I noticed in the last 3 months that it no longer works. I have been attempting to fix this issue for a few weeks now but to no avail. Specifically, I have reset my Orbi system several times, and I have updated my firmware twice. The router and two satellites are now running the latest v2.7.5.4 Completely stumped and frustrated…589Views0likes1CommentSmart Parent Controls not blocking VPN
I have an RBR850 three unit mesh system with Smart Parent Controls subscription. I just learned today that even though I have my kids profiles set to disable internet at 11pm, they can still connect a VPN and access anything. Under Content Level - Categories, the VPNs and Proxies are also blocked full time in their profile. After catching them and taking away all their devices indefinitely, they admitted to being able to do this as long as they can remember, so this isn’t a new bug. This is super disappointing for a product this expensive. Basically the parental controls are completely worthless, and worse, it doesn’t even show usage on their profile.1.1KViews1like1CommentOrbi ax6000 No Parental Control
Extreme disappointment today, paid a hefty price to upgrade to the Orbi ax6000 to find that it does not have circle (which circle confusingly states is available on Orbi systems) or any parental controls for that matter. Was upgrading from NightHawk r7800 due to wanting better parental control - the r7800 at least has the basic parental control feature - Orbi ax6000 offers access control, but ZERO PARENTAL CONTROL OPTIONS. Sadly, the Orbi will have to be returned. NetGear needs to fix the false claim that Circle is available on Orbi Systems to clearly state that Circle is only available on specific orbi models. It would also be nice to know if Circle features were in development for a future firmware release, but that information cannot be found either.1.7KViews3likes1CommentAX4200 / RBK753S and Circle 1st generation not working
I have spent several sleepless nights trying to get my new orbi mesh network to work purchased from costco for $499 with the Circle device. It clearly states on the Netgear Site that orbi works with Circle products. I spent more than 3 hours this morning, basically all of Friday night, with Netgear support and no resolution to getting my internet service working via the Wifi. I have a 1st generation Circle device and as soon as I turn it on, the wifi access to internet completely stops. What is going on with this? When I ask them if there are issues with Circle they state there are none. For $500 for this system which is there no compabitibility going on with a basic parental device. Before connecting the circle device, the Orbi system worked fine. I guess I am going to have to wait a little more and try again with Support, see if it can be resolved and if not then return it and try a different brand if Netgear blatenly states false information about the ability to use Circle products with the Orbi Line of products. I will be sure to detail out there on the web and social medai if this Circle is not supported. Netgear should be providing clear information on support about these issues, and not provide false information. Has anyone faced this topic or found solutions to it yet? For half a grand this is unbelievable.1.5KViews0likes1CommentCircle limits the speed of gig router by more than half.
I have fiber coming to my house so my internet speeds run 950Mbps download at the modem, into the router and to my computer via wifi UNTIL I enable Circle Parental controls. My speeds immediately sink to 250 Mbps! I disable parental controls and it goes right back up to 950Mbps. I turn on parental controls and it immediately falls to 2/3rds of what it was before. This is the second of these routers that I have bought because Netgear support told me the first new one was bad and it shouldn’t limit it like that. Well, the second one does the same thing. It is a software problem. Why bother putting parental controls on an expensive gig router if you can’t use it?!3.8KViews0likes7CommentsCircle Home Plus
Hey, So, I recently moved from a Nighthawk R7000 I'd been using for several years to an Orbi system. I'm in general happy with the Orbi...but I've run into difficulty in setting the parental controls back up. In particular, I've been using Circle, and Circle Go for my kids portable devices. However, I seem to be unable to set the Circle Go back up...and from looking at the Circle support, it sounds like they're phasing Circle with Disney out, in favor of their new "Circle Home Plus". Given that Circle with Disney has been and is an important selling point for these routers, what is the plan for Circle support in the future? Will the Circle software be upgraded to allow us to move to the new Circle Home Plus? I really am loathe to purchase some other device to support parental controls after shelling out on the Orbi's, and I'm a bit disappointed to find Netgear still touting the Circle with Disney as though it's a viable alternative when it really seems not to be going forward. Can anyone shed any light on any of this? Thanks!7.5KViews1like8CommentsR7000P Speed Performance with Disney by Circle Enabled
I currently have 200 Mbps through my internet provider. When I enable Circle by Disney, my speed is reduced to around 100 Mbps. I disable Circle by Disney and I'm back to my 200 Mbps. This is definately an issue with the router firmware. I was hoping that the latest firmware update of 1.3.1.64 would fix this but still an issue. Please let me know when this issue will be resolved.1.2KViews0likes1CommentDoes Disney Circle filter & Nighthawk individual websites when using a Chromebook?
I'm looking to repurchase a newer Nighthawk since Disney Circle is now supported internally. I had a preview AC1900 that did not support the Circle. My kids use Acer Chromebooks, using Google OS the thr Chrome browser. I've tried using many different software based filters to filter unwanted game and video sites, but none of them work if your child knows how to use Google's "Incognito" mode. My question is... Will Circle filter individual websites like youtube and gaming sites even if they open an incognito window?Solved2.6KViews0likes1CommentParental control not working
Hello. I would like to purchase a comibination modem + router + parental controls. Is there a product like the Netgear (R7000-100PAS) Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router, Gigabit Router, Open Source Support, Circle with Smart Parental Controls combined with a cable router? If they are not all combined, how do you successful block ALL the traffic entering your house, not just Wi-Fi? Thanks in advance!
