It would be great if you could see realtime bandwidth per device for the netgear r7000, similar to Google Wifi and Eero. It would be a really useful info and diagnostic tool to see what devices are currently taking up bandwidth. It would be great if this was added to the router web administration page as well theNetgear Genie and/or Netgear Up apps. I've attached a screenshot of how this feature looks on Google Wifi.26KViews93likes15CommentsBring back the ERASE button KB Articles
The following KB Articles had been working and were very valuable for user troubleshooting and also offers easier way to factory reset NETGEAR Nighthawk and Orbi systems: https://kb.netgear.com/24233/How-do-I-erase-the-configuration-settings-on-my-Nighthawk-router https://kb.netgear.com/000062081/How-do-I-erase-the-configuration-settings-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-System These two KB articles have been removed for unknown reasons. We would like to see them returned to public review and use as they are handy to have and point users too and does provide a alternative way to factory reset NETGEAR routers and MESH systems. Handy in that for MESH systems, it avoids having a user to manually walk around, find and manually press the reset button on satellites that are deployed. Using the ERASE button triggers a factory reset routine on both deployed satellites and the main router unit. Please bring this two KB articles back for public use. I would recommend updating them to reflect how the factory reset process works for MESH systems.13Views0likes0CommentsWeb GUI interface change
For me its the Nighthawk RAX40v2 Firmwareversie V1.0.15.128_2.0.89 Can we please have a sort in columns based on the IP-adres instead of the last edit device. Can we also upvate this together so netgear might take a look at in and adjust this behaviour? The one rrile you applied is always on the button, even after changing the rule, which is kind of annoying, Im a Cloud Engineer myself, yeah with a so-called Gaming Router. But to have u much easier and quicker way to get a good overview it should, in my opinion always be listed drom 192.168.0.1 till .*.254 Would like to have a update on this if it also applies to other models455Views0likes2CommentsWPA2/WPA3 Enterprise support
It is my pleasure to share my motivation for the integration of WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise support on the Nighthawk M6 Pro 5G WiFi 6E router, with a specific focus on situations where the router is utilized in a mobile capacity to provide eduroam in locations without fixed internet connections. In scenarios where fixed internet connections are absent, the role of wireless routers becomes increasingly crucial, especially in educational contexts relying on eduroam. By supporting WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise protocols, we ensure a high level of security for wireless connections vital for the transfer of sensitive educational data. These security standards are essential to ensure that the router complies with the stringent requirements of eduroam, even in environments where traditional fixed internet connections are unavailable. Furthermore, in the case of mobile usage in areas lacking fixed internet infrastructure, the support of WPA2 and WPA3 Enterprise adds an additional layer of security crucial for safeguarding user privacy and preventing unauthorized access. Considering mobility and flexibility, the integration of 6 GHz support is also of great significance. This enables the Nighthawk M6 Pro to deliver optimal wireless performance even in locations where routing a fixed internet connection is impractical. The 6 GHz band not only provides additional frequency space for improved performance but also minimizes interference, crucial for a reliable wireless experience. By integrating WPA2, WPA3 Enterprise, and 6 GHz support into the Nighthawk M6 Pro, we position this router as a reliable and secure solution for educational institutions relying on mobile eduroam connections in locations without fixed internet infrastructure. I am confident that these additions will transform the Nighthawk M6 Pro into an indispensable tool in educational environments where mobility and reliable wireless connectivity are paramount. Amazing Orbi, Orbo Pro, Nighthawk Routers, DSL Routers, Mobile Routers have service blocking (only for IPv4 why ever) - limiting the LAN -> Internet access (why ever somebody want to do this) but there is no control to manage firewall rules for Internet/WAN -> LAN. When can we expect a workable UI ot manage firewall rules for IPv4 and IPv6 LAN->Internet and Internet/WAN->LAN please? And then support for a ISP changing IPv6 prefix (ie. if the ISP does change the IPv6 prefix because they use rapid deployment (6rd) where the prefix is linked to the IPv4 address. And every time a user is seeking or this the Netgear mods reply to use Service Blocking - what of course does not work for WAN/Internet -> LAN. I think it would be pretty awesome if Netgear made their Network devices like the Netgear Orbi support the free software called Pi-Hole via an app/plugin support feature on the device itself. For those that dont know Pi-Hole is a FREE network wide ad blocker that you install on a Raspberry Pi and then after its installed on Raspberry Pi you connect the Raspberry Pi to your router and setup the Raspberry Pi as the DNS server. I would love to see Netgear make Pi-Hole compatible with their devices without having to buy a Raspberry Pi, maybe add it as a plugin or addon that you can install on Netgear devices? This is the link where you can learn more about Pi-Hole Link: https://pi-hole.net/3.1KViews9likes3CommentsImprovements to the D7000v2 and possibly other modem/router
The D7000v2 has the ability to use 2 Wan connections. DSL and PPPOE. I use one as the main one and the other as backup. If my main connection goes down it is a pain to switch to the other because I have to do 2 things. 1. On the Internet setup screen I have to reenter my username/password for the other ISP. Not only is reentering the login details a pain but doing this causes the Wifi to drop and reconnect. 2. From the WAN setup I have to switch the connection between DSL/Ethernet. Causes router to reboot. Not only does this waste time it is not possible for other members in the family to switch the connection. Is it possible to update the firmware so that both usernames and passwords are remembered and I simply have to switch the connection type? If it isn't possible to avoid the reboot that's fine but atleast I don't have to reenter my login details. Thanks in advance.175Views0likes0CommentsPut your own SSL certificate on router XR500 GAMING
Hello, I would like to be able to put my own SSL certificate on my router XR500 because your self-assigned certificate is neither secure nor accepted by all browsers. If you could just add this feature in the next update my router netgear and I would by very happy. Thanks.151Views0likes0Comments
