7 TopicsUnidentified Network through wired connection
Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. I've probably visited hundreds of sites and forums and tried the solutions there but my situation stayed the same. Here's my ipconfig /all Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. Works for a few days, then devices connected to extender lose internet. All lites on the extender are green. Logging into my FIOS quantum router, I see the 192.168.1.250 EX7300 listed, but it is "inactive". When connecting a device to the FIOS WIFI (not through the extender) all is working. I reset & setup the extender again about 1 week ago and all has been working. Devices see the extender's SSIDs and connect, so it is not a password issue. Any suggestions?2.7KViews0likes1CommentEX7300 extend only 2,4Ghz

I have a netgear WNDR4500v3 that works great. I've had it now for a year and I'm very happy. I had an old extender 2.4Ghz only for a while and it worked ok, but was a little slow and when a number of devices connected it started having issues, so I upgraded to an EX7300 recently. I installed it recently and configured it to use 5G-only with the router and 2.4G only with client devices. The setup went smoothly, all my devices connected fine and it seemed to work fine for a week or so. A couple of days ago it looked like I lost internet connection, but instead it was the extender not working. I didn't have time to check right away, but a couple of hours later all was working again so I didn't bother. It happened again today, I logged into the router and the extender was not listed among the "attached devices". I power cycled and now everything seems to be working OK. I don't see anything strange in the logs of the router and I can't find the logs in the extender. I saw another post about changing channels, but since I'm using two separate bands I assume that's not my issue. Any ideas?Solved8.7KViews0likes5CommentsEX7300 drops internet connectivity for almost all my computers
I have 3 EX7300 as access point in my office. One EX7300 seems faulty. All the people who are connected to the Wifi signal will get disconnected now and then out of nowhere. Seems like the SSID dissapears and they just get re-connected This is getting really messy. Ive tried everything. First firmware, latest, in between the first and latest. Wifi channel is different from the router channel. Changed chinnels. Ive tried pretty much everything and still it aint working properly What can I do? I am having issues setting up the EX7300 with a Pace modem/router model 5268AC. The extender recognizes my network, all the lights are solid green, but I am unable to access any webpages on the extender network. I used the WPS setup protocol, and everything went well, until I tried to get on the Internet.4.3KViews0likes3Comments
