773 TopicsLooking for linux-image-extra (6.10.9-10) package
This topic is related and refers to "2.5GBe USB LAN" discussion (https://community.netgear.com/discussions/readynas-general/2-5gbe-usb-lan/2455947/replies/2473823) I have replaced disk drive recently in my NAS, made factory reset default (dont ask why), reflashed good old RNOS 6.10.9 and started over from scratch. Problem which surprisingly appeared is, i cant get, nor find linux-image-extra for my version, or for 6.10.10 (i think file was same and mutual for both versions) = linux-image-extra_4.4.218-610090001_amd64.deb apt get linux-image-extra E: Invalid operation get root@READYNAS:~# apt install linux-image-extra Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: linux-image-extra 0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 78 not upgraded. Need to get 6,502 kB of archives. After this operation, 30.7 MB of additional disk space will be used. Err:1 https://apt.readynas.com/packages/readynasos 6.10.9/main amd64 linux-image-extra amd64 4.4.218-610090001 403 Forbidden E: Failed to fetch https://apt.readynas.com/packages/readynasos/dists/6.10.9/main/pool/l/linux/linux-image-extra_4.4.218-610090001_amd64.deb 403 Forbidden I have renewed all the keys (hopefully). I think this is problem of file absence? Not with keys? Because i did all workarounds for apt-get to work, disablind authentification, adding keyrings for debian and freexian (latest, they have deprecated Debian 7 Jessie recently too) and added all the mirros (debian + rnos) Maybe is there some mirror you have, or archive, you made, i am asking just for the file linux-image-extra_4.4.218-610090001_amd64.deb which i cant find anywhere else. Im dumb i havent saved it. I need recompile linux core, and with usb-lan stick driver, just this thing. I hope i cant find help from Netgear, or more probably one of you, who was wise and made mirror or backup of files? Thank you for any helpAccess to the admin webpage
HI Everyone I have a ReadyNas since 2012. I had in the past some difficulty to access to the admin page because of error message (website not sure, invalid certificate, expired certificate and so on) you could also choose go anyway I understand the risk. but now since win11 and tahoe on Mac I just have a black page, no possibility to reach the admin page. I can add some files through a map folder but RAIDar can not see on the network and no response via the browser as well. Does someone have a solution? I use this NAS as a music flac file server for my stereo. I need each time I add some file to re-scan the register in media folder admin page otherwise all the file are shifted when I choose some music on my stereo app. I am very close to buying a new NAS from Synology, but I guess I cannot just transfer the hard drives? They will be erased during the setup process. thank for your help, FabienTrouble Accessing RNAS 2120 Shares From Windows 11
So, my wife was using Windows 7 until recently. She didn't want to upgrade to Windows 10, but it was a requirement for a game she started playing with some of her friends. So, I upgraded her. For the record, I **HATE** the Windows 10 install/upgrade process! The trouble is that now, she can only access the RNAS2120 shares once per PC reboot. After she turns on her computer, she's able to access the shares with no problem, but if she closes that Explorer window, the next time she attempts to access the shares, she gets a message saying the drive assignment is already in use (under Windows 7, I had the shares mapped permanently to some drive letters - a feature which Windows 10 kept, kind of), and when she tries to access the shares through the Network Neighbourhood, it tells her that the username and/or password is wrong. With the exception of her computer, all the other machines I run (my PC, the Minecraft server, the raspberry pi media server, and the kids' PCs) are Linux based, so the NAS is configured for NFS, rather than SMB/CIFS. Knowing this would be a problem because Windows 10 doesn't include NFS support right out of the box, I made sure I installed NFS support once the upgrade was completed, setup identity mapping (using this guide which I didn't have to do on Windows 7), and when I tested it, everything worked. The first time. Once that explorer windows is closed, and a new one is opened, it stops working and I don't know why. Naturally, because it's NFS, I don't have any issues on the Linux boxes or the Pi. It's just Windows. Does anybody have any tips or advice (no, she won't let me switch her to Linux - I've been trying to convince her for the entire twenty one years we've been together).RAX30 Two Factor Authentication (2fa) is not requiring a code from the request phone.
There is no documentation in the User Manual that I can locate. Anyway, iPhone / (dropdown) Account Management / 3 choices: Edit Profile / Login Settings / Delete My NETGEAR Account; Select Login Settings. Choice: Two-Step Verification or Log in with Face ID. Chose Two-Step Verification (2fa / 2fv). To Enable this, you need a trusted device via phone #. At this point it is all very sketchy on what to do. If the phone you are using is also the trusted device for verification, I assume it would never ask for verification (and it's not working for me). Obviously, why bother. However, it should never allow the same phone you are using (makes no sense). Now, try and change the phone #. I can't seem to change it. I believe without 2fa, there is big security issue. Note, as advised by a Security show, if you select Face ID, and someone has your phone AND the phone has pictures of "you" on it, it's possible to defeat the Face ID.SolvedHow to Recover Data from RAID Based on Netgear ReadyNAS Duo RND2000
How to recover data from Netgear ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 which doesn’t work anymore. I have Netgear ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 with RAID1. At some point, he stopped showing signs of life. Checked the power supply unit, it is working. A lot of important data remained on the array. There is no access to similar devices (to connect my drives). How do I restore my data?SolvedReadyDLNA Not working well (if at all?) 6.10.7
Hey Netgear, what's up with ReadyDLNA not working well at all in OS6? I recently replaced my old ReadyNAS 4 Pro with a new model running OS6. ReadyDLNA sucks in OS6! The indexing doesn't update when media files are added, a manual refresh/scan of my media files seems hit or miss as it the units to show media to stream... Yes DLNS is enabled in System -> Settings. I have two shares - both shares are DLNA enabled for video files only to reduce the amount that needs indexing. When I browse to the NAS with a compliant client, I can see the server, I can sometimes see some content and sometimes I see folders with no content. I found this thread by Steffan from last year: https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-ReadyNAS-Users-General/ReadyDLNA-not-picking-up-new-files-RN102/m-p/1811720 Where the poster points out that the version of minidlna used by OS 6.10.7 is from 2017 and has a known bug fixed in later releases.... I logged into my new NAS with SSH and checked the minidlnad version number - sure enough 1.2.1... Seems a pretty simple thing to update in the next release ... How about it? This is my wife's primary way of watching our media libraries and I'd hate to have to dust off my ReadyNAS 4 Pro and go back to the reliable DLNA version of the old OS... ThanksSys fan failed on RND4000v2 - READYNAS NV+ v2
My NAS fan appears to have died with message "SYS fan failed" on the NAS uint. When I connect a good fan it also doesn't work. There is 5v on the yellow wire pin and 0v on the other two (red and black). It was running 2, 2Tb disks in redundant mode (I think it was RAID level: X2) but I can't login to the dashboard to see 😞 What are my options? Even if I buy a new NAS, will I be able to insert my old disks without it wiping the data? Any help / suggestions appreciated as I'm out of my depth on what to do next! Thanks, StewartSolved
