I have just bought a Netgear Nighthawk M1 through Telstra to enable working in the field. Plugged into the wallmount to charge and the battery seems to drain instead. It will only charge through USB which defeats the purpose of being completely mobile. There is a community discussion on this going back to 2014 but no obvious solution offered. Any suggestions?Nighthawk LTE hotspot + external antennas
I am in the United States. I purchased the Nighthawk LTE hotspot directly from AT&T. I have several technical questions about the two external antenna ports on this hotspot. 1) Do the external antenna ports support MIMO? In other words does adding a second antenna significantly improve download/upload speeds when using AT&T LTE enabled cell towers? 2) What is the impedance (ohms) of the external antenna ports? 50 ohm? 75 ohm? other? 3) What is the maximum power output by EACH external antenna port in watts? 4) This hotspot has 4 internal antennas (4x4 MIMO and 4x carrier aggregation). What happens to the 4 internal antennas when the first external antenna is connected? when the second external antenna is connected? are the internal antennas disabled? is hotspot MIMO disabled entirely? if the external antennas ports support MIMO, does that mean when two external antennas are connected the hotspot operates in 2x2 MIMO mode?Nighthawk M1 - selection of LTE Frequency/Band
Hello there, is there any way to select the LTE Band/Frequency the router should log on to? This would really help to avoid switching from a "good" cell to a bad one. With Huawei Routers I can do that using a third party tool. (LTE Watch). Unfortunately this is not available for Netgear Routers. Thanks for your comments!Nighhawk M1 data offloading how does it work
Hi guys, I can't find anywhere an explanation how data offloading actually work. When and how the offloaidng is actually triggered to transfer the internet connection from the mobile unit to the adsl connection? Ideally I would like to control this and select which device would use mobile internet or port or website access should be transferred to the ADSL connection. Thanks NicoAC790S and AT entercnd password
You can connect to your AC790 at port 5510 over telnet to gain access to "AT shell" which responds to various AT commands, e.g. status or band selection. The same e.g. with AC810S. More advanced commands require entering password first, kinda to unlock them. It is "grouse" for AC810s. Does anybody know the password for AC790s? It is neither "grouse" or "whistler".SolvedIP-Passthrough or Bridge Mode
Hi Guys, So there are several posts on the interwebs about additional functionality being exposed through FW updates to these devices. Does anyone know when we might be seeing this functionality. These devices are great but they are less usefull as a business failover device using a Dual-WAN Router as a CPE as IPsec VPN tunnels and the likes do not seem to work very well. I am really really keen to see this functionality as it would form the basis of a great cookie cutter HA deployment for small businesses who require direct internet access for SaaS products but do not want to pay for the price of Business grade connectivity for failover. Please please tell me this should be coming out soon. IT DudeNighthawk M1 - enabling IP Pass Through Mode
I've recently purchased a Nighthawk M1 Gigabit LTE modem router. (Firmware 10.12.02.01) I would like to operate it in IP Pass-Through Mode. This is decribed on pages 51-52 of the manual: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/MR1100/MR1100_UM_EN.pdf?cid=wmt_netgear_organic However, this option does not appear in M1's admin web interface: (Ignore the settings in the screenshot - I'm playing with DMZ as an alternative) Any advice on how to expose IP pass through would be appreciated. Thanks, JohnSolvedUsing AT&T Nighthawk MR1100 in Bridge mode
If I put the MR1100 in bridge mode, can I connect a wifi router with an ethernet cable and access AT&T cell tower data. I can put the wifi router in bridge mode and avoid double NAT but I really need the extra features of the wifi modem. I can conect to a DSL router in bridge mode using PPPoE but don't have a clue how to make the MR1100 work. I think AT&T is using a Class A for the MR1100 IP. Thanks
