I bought a Netgear 2.5gbe switch MS108EUP and it completely died after 4 days of use, that's very shocking from a product that claims lifetime warranty. My wife was home and heard a crack noise and all the connectivity was lost after. I've now tested amd the psu is completely dead actually is even shorting any plug that I've tried plugging it. The switch was not using any poe device and only had 3 ports active. This is completely unacceptable from a £300 switch with only 4 days in use and no load on it.769Views0likes2CommentsHow many M4300's can I cascade?
When I first learned switches, I was told you should never have more than 5 connected unless they use a backplane stacking cable. I have them connected via the 10g sfp ports. Anyone know if the 5 stack rule applies to the M4300s? We currently have 5 but may need more.788Views0likes2CommentsSuitable upgrade for an EN108
I've got a patch panel in my home (!) with CAT5 wiring running into various rooms from the patch panel. The patch panel is served by a Netgear EN108 switch. I want to upgrade this to add extra wired connectivity so what would the community recommend that I upgrade to. I would like to have power over internet and also put in some CAT5e connectivity. Could I also daisychain from my unit3KViews0likes15CommentsAccessing sites thru local network VPN hardware
We have a Prosafe FVS336G Firewall/VPN. We'd like to set this so that users within the LAN can access sites on the internet as if it were an external VPN. A loop back tunnel of sorts to other sites using our own VPN. This would allow anonymous and non-geo based net access. I can add another prosafe router in between our ISP fios box if necessary. Thanks.3.2KViews0likes7Comments
