We are having trouble with our kids playing games on school Chrome books. I can find the IP address on the Chrome book but cannot find it in the Orbi app. Why are they (4 chrome books) hidden in the app. I want to be able to pause their connection.RBR850 How to support https on local network (NOT remote) with nat loopback
Hi, As we all know communication should be encrypted at all times to avoid sniffing and hackers getting into your systems. So I want to secure the communication to my home assistant (webserver) on the local network. I don't want to expose my home assistant to the outside world. I can get a domain and lets encrypt cert but ofcourse this would resolve to my public ip, which does not work on the local network unless you allow traffic from the internet to get access to your local home assistant. I don't want this! Unfortunately the RBR850 does not allow me to register and route local traffic for my home assistant url. Nor does the RBR850 allow to set a DNS server of my own (wtf). So last resort appear to be NAT loopback. My knowledge on this is low and I've seen some complaints on this forum about setting up NAT loopback which go way beyond my cap. The poor documentation about this from NETGEAR doesn't help either. So does anyone know how to do this? Or should I return the RBR850's?SSID is Duplicate Please Change Error
So, I have the RBRE960 with the latest firmware (V7.2.6.21_5.0.20) running 2.4ghz, 5ghz, and 6ghz wifi. I'd like all three wifi networks to use the same SSID. This support article says that, by default, Orbi uses the same name and password for all three of these networks: https://kb.netgear.com/000064265/How-do-I-change-the-6-GHz-WiFi-network-name-and-password-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-6E-System However, when I attempt to make the 6ghz SSID match the 2.4 and 5ghz networks I get a popup error that says: The SSID is duplicate, please change to another one. Is there any way around this? From what I can tell setting these to be the same will work best with my iPhone 15 allowing it to select whichever network provides the best signal. As it is, if i connect to the 6ghz and walk too far away I start having issues and have to manually switch to the other SSID that doesn't have the -6ghz behind it.SolvedOrbi 960 print errors to legacy network printer on 2.4 IOT SSID when PC connected to wifi 5ghz SSID.
I installed my network laser printer (Brother HL-L2350DW) using the SSID for IOT devices (2.5ghz legacy) on my Orbi RBKE963 mesh network. I have assigned it a static IP/DHCP reservation in the Orbi setup. I can see the printer is connected via the Orbi admin tool. I get print errors when attempting to print if my PC is connected to the non-IOT SSID on the same router. This should not be the case as they share the same DHCP server. If I want to print, I have to connect my PC to the slower IOT SSID. If I reinstall the printer from scratch in Windows 11 using the assigned IP address, it will work immediately but not after the printer goes into sleep mode. Even when I hit the power button to wake up the printer, I am unable to print to it without errors unless I manually connect my PC to the IOT SSID. Time to buy a new printer?RBK 85x and Remote Administration/login
Hi team. In a recent update have they removed the option to remote administrate/login to the routers? I have an RBK852, using it as a Router. Im stuck inside a hospital at the moment and just would like to update and change a new things. But I couldnt login, lucky I had a computer still turn on that had AnyDesk turn on and I was able to login then access the router and I couldnt see the option to turn on the ability to remote manage. I was able to turn VPN on and get the settings file so I can login and now do the things I need to every so often. But would have been nice to have the function to remote administer via the Orbi App. But I just couldn't see it come up.SolvedIs it possible to set a VLAN on the Orbi RBR350 when in AP mode?
Hello everybody, So I have bought the Netgear Orbi (RBR350) and put it into AP-mode. Now I am redoing my network infrastructure and I was wondering if it is possible to set a VLAN for the orbi while its in AP-mode. Thank you for your time and help!!Nighthawk upgrade to Orbi
I currently have an R9000 router and three EX8000 extenders. Just purchased an Orbi 960 router with two of its extenders. Here are some questions: I will have a spot where my existing third extender is. Should I: (a) keep that EX8000 in place (it primarily serves the detached garage), (b) replace it with the R9000 set up as an extender (rather than as a router), or (c) must I spend the extra $600 for yet another Orbi extender? (I am assuming the third extender is still needed - it may not be.) Any advice on making the setup easier? I've been told that is not possible to import settings directly from the R9000 to the Orbi 960, but I have more than 100 devices grabbing IP addresses and some with static addresses.Solved
