Block/Allow Schedule Via Mac Addresses
Dear Netgear, 1. The mac address control (block/allow) ability is pretty weak. I really need the ability to schedule device level access, preferrably by mac address, via a time and day schedule. 2. Additionally, we need override buttons on the Genie apps to immidiately block and release internet access via the router. Push a button, it disables access. Push it again, it resumes access. Furthermore, an override button if (and only if) mac address scheduled controls have been enabled, as described above. Push a button, it overrrides the schedule. Push it again, the schedule resumes. Nothing is perfect, right? I mean, what if my pregnant wife wakes up at 3:04am and wants to Google 'pickles and ice cream' and her shiny new iPhone is blocked via schedule? Bad husband! It easy.... just copy paste the code from one of your other packages. I mean, we're talkng about the grandaddy Netgear Tri-Band Nighthawk R8500 four antenna monster here aren't we? We need souped up software to go along with that drag racing wifi router. How about RGB LEDs for those antenna tips while we're at it? How do I make a suggertion to Netgear to have the capability to either save/export the MAC addresses filtering list and reload/import to another netgear router (providing they use similar OS)? Because of network topology it is often not possible to protect the router(s) device from internal (to the network) hacks or security compromises. Passwords are a good start. What would be a great addition and probably not too much development is to implement a password failure count and after so many failures refuse attampts for 30 minutes or so. Hello, I have a router R7000P and a AirCard 810(EUS)... Both are Netgear devices so I wished it can be compatible. Is it possible for the development team to make this router able to connect to the AirCard to increase the bandwidth (load balancing mode.... maybe bonding if it is possible?) in additionning the DSL (via ethernet) and LTE-A (via USB). Else it can be a very good way for a failover mode. Waiting for some answer. Maybe I'm not alone to want this kind of feature? The Readyshare print server is a poor feature that can't handle itself with multi-users. The feature has a tremedous lag on wifi more than 15 minutes! Sometimes the tasks are swallowed into a sinkhole on multi users it's anightmare the feature is blocked or can't print properly. It is time to rethink the entire stuff and end the hibbernation mode!!!! The feature should be configured thru this OS and not thru the app. OS config should be mandatory a 17 y/o SMC is able to do it!!!! The "customers" of my network are complaining every single day!!! I really HATE that feature!! This feature MUST be able to be configured on Win, Mac and Linux thru the OS and an optional mode thru the app only!!
