73 TopicsReadyCloud shows NAS as offline when its not (SOLVED)
(Mods if this topic is in wrong area please delete as I also replied to http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=81208 hoping for a response ) I have a RN102 with v6.2.4 firmware. Upon attempting to login to ReadyCloud I get the error " *blank*NAS is offline, please check power and internet connectivity" I can ping my NAS successfully, can browse to it using file explorer, can access the admin page by typing in the IP and browse to all of my folders in the admin console but ReadyCloud shows my NAS as offline and does not display any of my data, also tried holding the "backup" button on the device for 5 seconds and searching for it by serial number under the "Discover" tab in a couple of last desperate attempts.... really confused but I wouldn't be surprised if this were a self-inflicted issue :? I'm currently turning off ReadyCloud and waiting for my reboot to re-enable ReadyCloud to see if it resolves my issue. I'll edit post or add another reply to follow up once I've done so. EDIT* So I tried re-enabling ReadyCloud after reboot of NAS and this is what displayed.... any ideas to resolve this would be greatly appreciatedSolved20KViews0likes7CommentsReadyCloud "Add User" button missing after 6.2.2 Firmware UpDt
I have been using my ReadyNas RN10401 Servers for several months. After the 6.2.2 Firmware update I am no longer able to add a user to my server. Currently I am the only user on the system. I can log into ready cloud and look at both of my servers but when I go to the manage page I am unable to add users to either server. Before the update I was able to add a user and had an additional user that I recently deleted. When attempting to add a new user after the update I no longer see the "Add User" Button. Hi, I'm currently using a Netgear ReadyNAS 102 which, I have previously set up to share with my brother via the Readycloud. It appears that since I've updated my firmware on the NAS that my brother is still able to see the NAS drive but none of the folders shared on it. I went into the readycloud admin access and basically tried to see what the problem was (with no avail) so then decided to delete the user and re-add him in the hope that it would reset any settings that were blocking access. I re-added my brother and he has received a request to have access but when he clicks on the link to confirm to have access to my NAS drive it tries to add it but comes up with 'Token expired' and the code 3508080544? Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening or why the sharing has suddenly stopped working? Thanks11KViews0likes1CommentIs ReadyCLOUD ready to use?
I posted yesterday with a question relating to local users being able to change their own password on a new ReadyNAS 316 we have in the office ( viewtopic.php?f=23&t=71146 ). I have been trying to get some answers about how I am supposed to setup ReadyCLOUD access to this device from Netgear support - and the issue has been escalated - but I wondered if any wise ewoks in here know how this is meant to function. It appears that when you activate ReadyCLOUD in OS 6 you have to supply a single ReadyCLOUD / ReadyNAS remote (are these accounts synonymous?) account. However you can also add several other accounts either by email address or ReadyCLOUD username. There doesn't seem to be anywhere where you can restrict what such Cloud users have access to on the NAS. When I login to ReadyCLOUD with anything other than the ReadyCLOUD account associated with the activation on the ReadyNAS device I don't have access to anything on it. If I switch the account used for activation the access seems to switch to that user but none of the other users in the Cloud users list has any access beyond seing the Device as listed under their browsable devices - just browsing it shows no files or folders. This is quite frustrating, I got this NAS because it has this feature - we have remote workers who need access from other sites than the office, sometimes at third party machines. Any info would help - the documentation for this device seems to be quite limited.11KViews0likes30CommentsReadyCloud replaces ReadyNAS Remote and other confusion...
The release notes for 6.2 says that ReadNAS Remote has been replaced by ReadyCloud and a ReadyCloud PC Desktop app... Unfortunately, I cannot get live help via Netgear support because I am outside of the 90 day window on my NAS. Here is the problem: I am unable to get the ReadyCloud desktop app to successfully establish a remote VPN connection to my ReadyNAS 102 the way ReadyNAS Remote did. It works fine when I am on the local network. But not remotely. I use my ReadyCloud login credentials on the desktop app but it only says "Online (VPN Disconnected)". I hit the refresh button, which puts it in "connecting..." mode for a long time, then it finally comes back again only to say it can see the NAS is online, but can't connect via VPN to display the shares. Note that using the readycloud.netgear.com website works fine. I can see my shares via the web just fine. It is the desktop client app that is not working. Any help appreciated.9.4KViews1like14Commentscurrently you have no registered or shared devices
I can access my ReadyNAS 314 - 6.2.2 fine through ready cloud with the first entered user name(admin) but no users have been able to ever. They keep getting "currently you have no registered or shared devices" I have deleted them, readded them, turned readycloud on & off, rebooted, reinstall firmware, and factory reset (twice). I have even changed router/modems. I am hoping (and should be able to) to set up access for my family for backup & share files online. I apparently have something sinister going on. For the shares I have SMB & HTTP protocols setup on them. Is there a port forwarding I am missing (I have none)? Protocol?9.1KViews2likes9CommentsNV+ and remote file access
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ (sparc) running RAIDiator 4.1.14 [1.00a043]. I have a number of shares that I would like to make securely assessable via the web. I have a mix of Mac and Windows machines including Windows on the Mac via Parallels. Since WebDAV no longer seems to work in the Windows environment I wondered if there's another option. ReadyNAS Remote was enabled in 4.1.14 but it seems like it's converting to ReadyCloud and following the guidelines on the readynas site I can't seem to get either working. Am I wasting my time? Is there a way to get remote access to my NAS in a cloud-like or webDAV like way? Please help. Thanks, - Charles7.8KViews1like15CommentsReadyCloud Connection Secure?
ReadyCloud advertises "creates a secure, private cloud experience" and "VPN-like access". I chatted with Netgear support and they could not come up with a documented level or protocol of encryption security used, if any. I generally understand the mediation server method, but that doesn't mean the peer-to-peer connection is secure once established. Any thoughts or experiences? I am trying to setup ReadyCLOUD so a user can access my NAS over the internet, I have tried to follow instructions and have done everything required but the user still cannot access the NAS completely. The user is registered through ReadyCLOUD and has been invited to the NAS, I have made sure they have Read/Write access to a folder but they can only upload files. Whatever they upload they cannot see and they cannot see or download anything In the folder. They can see the root folder that is being shared but nothing in it. When they upload their file I can see it on my end(as the administrator). I have tried restarting the device and it hasn't changed anything. I have tried all sorts of tests and I haven't gotten anywhere, although I noticed if I try to turn on any protocols other than SMB the root folder that is being shared becomes invisible to the user, so the only protocol activated is SMB and I have the cloud user checked off as having Read/Write permission, but now I am not sure what to do now, please advise, thank you. My ISP is Time Warner Cable. We get our internet through Coaxial(Cable). My operating system is Windows 7 Professional while the users OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
