73 TopicsReadyCloud shows NAS as offline when its not (SOLVED)
(Mods if this topic is in wrong area please delete as I also replied to http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=81208 hoping for a response ) I have a RN102 with v6.2.4 firmware. Upon attempting to login to ReadyCloud I get the error " *blank*NAS is offline, please check power and internet connectivity" I can ping my NAS successfully, can browse to it using file explorer, can access the admin page by typing in the IP and browse to all of my folders in the admin console but ReadyCloud shows my NAS as offline and does not display any of my data, also tried holding the "backup" button on the device for 5 seconds and searching for it by serial number under the "Discover" tab in a couple of last desperate attempts.... really confused but I wouldn't be surprised if this were a self-inflicted issue :? I'm currently turning off ReadyCloud and waiting for my reboot to re-enable ReadyCloud to see if it resolves my issue. I'll edit post or add another reply to follow up once I've done so. EDIT* So I tried re-enabling ReadyCloud after reboot of NAS and this is what displayed.... any ideas to resolve this would be greatly appreciatedSolved20KViews0likes7CommentsMac file copies to server not seen from PC. PC copies only seen in readycloud
Mac file copies to server not seen from PC. PC copies only seen in readycloud. Not sure why this is happening. After some testing from my Mac I can't see the files in SMB but I can see them in the little windows icon that is listed on my network area. Same name as my smb folder. Why is that? It should be the same contents in SMB, AFP and whatever. Can someone help?2.7KViews0likes2CommentsCan't access certain folders on RN 104 via ReadyCloud
Hello, I've been pulling my hair trying to find out what happened to my RN104 but so far I haven't gotten the solution I've been searching for so I thought I would post here to see if anyone can help me. I've been able to access the RN104 with the administrative credentials but when my friends try to get access to a certain folder, they can't seem to see anything. Thumbnails won't pop up, previews won't show, and the worst part of it is when they try to download the file, they get an error saying that the file is either corrupt or too large when the file is only 1.0MB in size. I have full access and have had no problems with it. They have also tried using different browers (Chrome, Firefox, IE) but the same thing happens. We are at our wits end trying to figure out what is wrong. The only thing I can think of is updating to the new firmware because before then, everything was working. Now I have two people who can get to the folder, but when they try to download a file (picture) Windows Photo Viewer can't even display it. The way that they are accessing the file is via the shared web link I provided them and I checked if it was because the number of access I gave them was up but they still have over 700 times they can access the folder using that link. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreaciated. I have tried turning off and on the RN104 and I have already migrated to MyNetgear so that can't be the issue. Thank you.5.3KViews0likes16CommentsReadyCloud replaces ReadyNAS Remote and other confusion...
The release notes for 6.2 says that ReadNAS Remote has been replaced by ReadyCloud and a ReadyCloud PC Desktop app... Unfortunately, I cannot get live help via Netgear support because I am outside of the 90 day window on my NAS. Here is the problem: I am unable to get the ReadyCloud desktop app to successfully establish a remote VPN connection to my ReadyNAS 102 the way ReadyNAS Remote did. It works fine when I am on the local network. But not remotely. I use my ReadyCloud login credentials on the desktop app but it only says "Online (VPN Disconnected)". I hit the refresh button, which puts it in "connecting..." mode for a long time, then it finally comes back again only to say it can see the NAS is online, but can't connect via VPN to display the shares. Note that using the readycloud.netgear.com website works fine. I can see my shares via the web just fine. It is the desktop client app that is not working. Any help appreciated.9.5KViews1like14CommentsReadyCloud share sync to PC never ends
I have a ReadyNAS 104 with the most recent firmware running at home. I had been using the old PC software but got rid of it and now am trying out the new ReadyCloud windows software. While the look and ease if use if pretty good, one of the basic features doesn't seem to want to work. I clicked "Sync on PC" to my documents folder and ReadyCloud created a directory under my user directory and started to sync the shared folder. It has been running now for 5 days, never reaching "Sycnchronizing 100%" it seems to get to around 75% then cycles from indexing (which is at 100%) and downloading. I would think it would be finished trying to figure out if it has everything by now. It is connected locally over the lan and my speed to and from the NAS is good. does anyone know what is going on? Is there a deadlock or something constantly altering my filesystem that sync keeps trying to catch up with? thanks Scott4KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS 104: unable to locate it #24583637 [SOLVED]
I have been using this NAS for a year, though I never managed to have ReadyCLOUD or ReadynasREMOTE work. Now I NEED to share my stuff online, so I need to make this mess work. Now I have 6.2.2 firmware. I tried to delete all previous attempts traces by deleting all accounts. Impossible: you cannot delete the old user associated to readynasremote and readycloud on the NAS. you can delete them only online, but this is useless. you can re-create the old user and password, but the problem is that the NAS keeps saying SERVICES OFFLINE. I can't change, edit, add new users to the cloud accounts because 1) it can be done only online and 2) it can be done only AFTER the online service locates your NAS. But my nas is visible only on RAIDAR. Even using the serial number gives no result. I tried this even disabling firewall on my router. Any clues?4.4KViews0likes5CommentsReadyCloud Connection Secure?
ReadyCloud advertises "creates a secure, private cloud experience" and "VPN-like access". I chatted with Netgear support and they could not come up with a documented level or protocol of encryption security used, if any. I generally understand the mediation server method, but that doesn't mean the peer-to-peer connection is secure once established. Any thoughts or experiences?
